Some Intel Patents Related to x86 and Other Technologies
I never asked for it, you never asked for it, and yet here we are.
As a side thought, I wondered: How many patents just Intel is the applicant for? Let’s have a small, tiny, atomic peek.

That’s a lot, and obviously not all of them. Quite a lot of patents already related to the x86 specifications (VT-x/VMX, TSX, AVX, etc.) and specifications that Intel has participated in, such as Intel HD Audio, UEFI, TPM, and Wi-Fi.
In fact, Intel owns more than 40,000 patents across the globe (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/policy/policy-ip.html), and Intel IP Corporation is doing the most part in making patents (a few patents from Intel IP: https://patents.justia.com/assignee/intel-ip-corporation). IBM is probably no better in sheer number of patents.
Pretty scary, isn’t it?
